The silencing of dissent has begun. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has started a petition against Rush Limbaugh. The DCCC is attacking Rush over the following comment:

Unimpressed and  discouraged. That about sums up my feelings after witnessing the first few days of the Obama presidency. Before I explain why, allow me to first answer a question that has been appearing in my reader emails. The question is…you guessed it, “Don’t you want Obama to succeed?” This question has been used by many liberals in order to trip weak conservatives and republicans. Let me make this clear. I WANT AMERICA TO SUCCEED! If America’s future and success means that Obama must fail then so be it. If Obama is allowed to succeed in pushing his liberal agenda in key areas then America will fail. I’ve heard many so-called conservatives express their desire for Obama to succeed, yet Obama’s agenda is the opposite of their supposed beliefs. Welcome again, everybody. Today is the seventh anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11. And we chose this day for a reason, because we believe it can be a day not only of national mourning and memory, but a day of national service. Whether that’s tutoring kids after school, serving in the military, or volunteering for a faith- based organization, national service can help us solve national challenges.

Service is not red or blue. It’s beyond party and partisanship.

John McCain served in the military for 26 years, nearly making the ultimate sacrifice for his country. After college, Barack Obama chose to work in the streets of Chicago to improve the lives of everyday people. Both of these men that we will hear from tonight are deeply committed to national service. We are honored to have them with us, together for the first time as their party’s nominees.

The order of their appearance tonight was chosen by coin toss.

I am very pleased to welcome Senator John McCain, the Republican nominee for president of the United States.

Excerpts From Obama’s Speech in Berlin: (My comments are obviously in red)

 Speaker Pelosi called President Bush a “total failure” Thursday in reaction to Bush’s remarks two days earlier in which he took the Democratic run Congress to task for not doing their, “fundamental job.”

Pelosi’s Own Words:

“God bless him, bless his heart, president of the United States –a total failure, losing all credibility with the American people on the economy, on the war, on energy, you name the subject,”

Earlier this week the ACLU criticized Federal officials and the Bush administration on their handling of the Terror Watch List. They claim the list has reached over 1 million names, although the Terrorist Screening Center (TSC) says the ACLU is confusing the number of records (1 million) with the number of individuals on the list (400,000). Of course you won’t hear the ACLU acknowledge their mistake.

As a supporter of Drill Here, Drill Now it’s fascinating that Congress has sat by and done nothing as the cost of gas continues to rise. President Bush again urged Congress on Friday to act before its August break to open new areas for oil exploration in the United States to help ease record high oil prices.

President Bush:

“The members of Congress, particularly the Democratic leadership, must address this issue before they go home for this upcoming August break.”"They have a responsibility to explain to their constituents why we should not be drilling for more oil here in America to take the pressure off of gasoline prices.” “One way to deal with supply problems is to increase supply here in America.” “And yet the Democratic leaders of Congress just consistently block opening up these lands for exploration.”

"Change." "Change we can believe in." This is the mantra of the Obama campaign. Through his promises of change, Obama has become the hottest trend for many witless Americans. They know nothing of his agenda or polices, but they believe that he will bring "change."
